Re|Source

Engineers in safety gear with a tablet, cobalt mining and a Tesla Model 3

Re|Source is a traceability platform for critical minerals, enabling responsible and transparent supply chains from mine to market, trusted by Glencore, Tesla, ERG and CMOC.

The Challenge

Cobalt moves through one of the world's most complex and opaque supply chains. From the mines in the DRC, through smelters and refiners in Finland, to battery producers in China, and ultimately into Tesla vehicles. Proving its origin and responsible sourcing required not just technology, but on-the-ground validation across radically different environments and stakeholders.

Value added

Planned and managed all remote pilots across 5 markets on 3 continents, spanning the full length of the supply chain. The core challenge was finding repeatable, scalable steps across completely different contexts. From mining operations in the DRC to battery manufacturers in China. Managed a complex consortium of major industry players including Glencore, ERG and Tesla, aligning stakeholders around a shared vision for traceability. This work laid the product foundation that enabled Re|Source to spin off as an independent, successful startup.

Results

  • Pilots executed across 5 markets on 4 continents
  • Consortium built with Glencore, ERG and Tesla
  • Co-created the world's first battery passport, presented at the World Economic Forum
  • Re|Source successfully spun off as an independent company
